Gram's passing

Another week, another crazy journey.

As I said last week, my fiance's gram wasn't doing too well.  During the last few days, she suffered a second heart attack and a major stroke.  On Wednesday, Pat and I rushed into Boston to see her because we were told she had only hours to live.  It was so sad to visit her - she was so helpless and sad looking (please remember that I said she was SO strong normally).  We told her how much we loved her & shared funny memories with Pat's other relatives.  When we kissed her goodbye, we thought it'd be the final kiss.

Thursday rolled around and Gram was still ill, but living.  She was moved to the hospice in Danvers on Thursday morning, and as everyone knows, hospice is not somewhere you want to be.  We were told yet again that Gram had only a few more hours, so again, we went to visit her.  We went into Danvers after Pat's class on Thursday, and left around 11PM.  At 1AM, she passed away.

Gram was an extraordinary woman, friend, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother.   There are no words to say to describe how thoughtful, kind, compassionate, loving and special she was.  Nobody will ever forget her and the impact that she had on her family, friends and community.

We love you Gram, rest in peace <3.
